Jerry Gentry, M.D.
Dr. Gentry joined the Lifesigns staff in Memphis, Tenn. in August of 2003 and brings extensive knowledge in the areas of primary and emergency care, general medicine, occupational health and minor surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and doctorate of medicine from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
He most recently worked for the Methodist LeBonheur Health System, serving as medical director at the Methodist Medical Complex in Robinsonville, Miss., and the assistant medical director at the Methodist Family Center in Tunica, Miss. Earlier in his career, Dr. Gentry served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps for eight years and worked in several capacities from resident and practicing physician to various clinic and hospital administrator positions.
Dr. Gentry is licensed in Tennessee and Mississippi and is a member of the American Medical Association, National Medical Association, Mississippi State Medical Association and the American College of Managed Care Medicine. He continues to remain active in the community and is involved with several local organizations.
Felix L. Caldwell, M.D.
Native Memphian Dr. Felix Caldwell joined Lifesigns in July, 2006 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of internal medicine.
Dr. Caldwell earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee, Memphis and stayed to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee.
He served in the United States Navy Reserves for four years at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and Lemoore Naval Hospital in Lemoore, Calif. Dr. Caldwell then decided to give back to his alma mater, becoming an instructor in the department of medicine in 1988. He was promoted to assistant professor in 1991, then associate professor in 1994 and continues to instruct at the present time.
Dr. Caldwell is board-certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is the current chairman of the medical care committee and a member of the executive committee at William F. Bowld Hospital. Having a longtime interest in preventive medicine, Dr. Caldwell has participated in numerous studies at UT regarding the treatment of hypertension and prevention of heart attacks and strokes, and also participated in a long-term trial of exercise and prevention of heart disease and stroke.
Dr. Caldwell has been selected as one of "The Best Doctors in Memphis" by Memphis Magazine six consecutive times. He and his wife, Ann, have three children.
